Malayalam Dailies and Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2010

Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2010 Q1 shows that the top 10 malayalam newspapers published from Kerala has lost its readership.

Kerala dailies like Malayala Manorama and Mathrubhumi were once the leaders in vernacular language categories, now they are soon loosing readers. Here are some interesting facts about published in the Indian Readership survey 2010.

Out of the major English and Malayalam newspapers available in Kerala, all newspapers except Rashtra Deepika has lost readers in 2010.

Malayala Manorama continues to be the No. 1 daily in Kerala with 1.24 crore readers but has lost 2.41 lakh readers in 2010 as compared to 2009.

Second spot Mathrubhumi, with a total readership of 90.94 lakh has lost around 3 lakh readers in 2010

The No. 3 daily in Kerala is Deshabhimani with total 33.06 lakh readership has lost 1.37 lakh readers.

Kerala Kaumudi Flash has more readers than Kerala Kaumudi daily in Trivandrum.

4. Kerala Kaumudi 13.04 lakh

5. Madhyamam 11.45 lakh.

6. Mangalam 7.14 lakh.

7. The Hindu 6.12 lakh

8. Kerala Kaumudi Flash 5.28 lakh

9. Rashtra Deepika 1.56 lakh

10. The New Indian Express 4.14 lakh
