How did 'Mallu' became synonymous to 'Sex'?

The slang 'Mallu' is a term popularised by North Indians and NRIs to denote Malayalees or people of Kerala origin. We all frequently use phrases like 'She is a Mallu girl' or a 'Gang of Mallu Boys' in our informal talks. Unfortunately in the web, the term 'Mallu' has become synonymous with something else making it believe that all Mallus are objects for 'sex'. Here is what we get if we search for 'Mallu' in Google Search or YouTube.

Isn't it a shame on every Malayalees? How did this happen, may be because of those film makers who created the movies, or the people who uploaded the movies or may be the man who coined the term Mallu.

Who are the culprits?

We can do a little bit of search analysis to find the answer. (Thanks for Google Insights for Search)

Here is the search volume for the keyword 'Mallu' from 2004 - 2009. Note the steep growth in search.

The most searched terms related to mallu India during the Last 12 months are 'hot mallu', 'mallu videos', 'mallu aunty', 'mallu masala' etc (See the chart below), which makes us convince that mallus are something hot or masala.

The highest searches for 'Mallu' are made in Gulf Countries (Not surprising due to the relatively high concentration of Malayalees). India comes only second in search locations. Country wise, UAE comes first followed by India, Oman and Kuwait. In India 'Mallus' are most wanted in Kerala followed by Orissa and Tamil Nadu.

How did the meaning of Mallu change? Who are the culprits?, It's upto you to decide.
