Free Laptop from Ericsson - Email Hoax

Today morning I got an email from one of my friends, actually it was a email forwarded by him, which was later forwarded by some others also. The email was about Ericsson distributing free laptops to those who forwarded this email to 8 or 20 friends. The detailed mail is as follows:

Looks like a modernised version of those devotional email chains "Please forward this to 10 friends so that Lord 'XXXX' can give you prosperity".

My friend has forwarded this email to me along with his twenty other friends hoping that he might get an Ericsson Laptop soon.

On the first look itself, with little bit of commonsense, one can find out that this mail is a hoax. A company like Ericsson has no need to resort to this kind of cheap marketing technology. Also the logo provided in the email is of Sony Ericsson and not of Ericsson and SE doesn't make laptops. In the email it says 'If you sent the mail to 8 or 20 or more people you will receive a Ericsson Laptop. How can a company find that you have sent this mail to many people?, Will the company executives come to your house and check your mail box?

Even Ericsson noticed this email hoax and gives explanation in its website as follows

"Free Phone/Laptop" Email Hoax
a message from Ericsson
About the "Free Phone/Laptop" Email HoaxEricsson is not giving away free phones or laptops. The chain mail you have received is a fraud and there is no person with the name of Anna Swelund working at Ericsson. At Ericsson, we are constantly looking at new innovative ways to market ourselves, chain e-mails are not one of them. We kindly ask you not to forward the chain mail further.Thank you.

Email hoaxes are easily spread if forwarded without logical thinking. So this is my request to thoose people. - Be sensible and think before making yourself an idiot.
