When is Friendship Day celebrated? India 2011

Traditionally the first Sunday of August is celebrated as Friendship day. In 2010, the Friendship day was celebrated on August 1, which turned out to be the first Sunday of the month. So this year (2011) it has to be on the first Sunday itself ie, on August 7th as per traditional belief. But in 27 April 2011, the General Assembly of the United Nation declared July 30 as official International Friendship Day. See even in the case of friendship we dont have a common day to celebrate .....What a pity
